See how we created a unique artwork out of data
To thank Southwest Airlines’ Rapid Rewards members, we partnered up with Austin-based agency GSD&M and data visualisation artist Joshua Davis to turn passenger flight data into personalised, interactive works of art. Better than an extra hot towel, right?
Combining each member’s flight data with WebGL, we created a platform that showcases where they’ve been over the past year in a customised, abstract artwork – with things like wind speed, season and trip temperature influencing the color and placement of each stroke – all set to a unique binaural audio track to enhance the immersive experience.
Those high flyers could save the artwork to use as a wallpaper on their devices – or for the real art fiends, download it hi-res to have professionally printed and framed.
